Highlights From School Of The Wild.

Thought I'd post some highlights from School Of The Wild. It was such a great week for these kids. If your kids ever get the chance to do this, it was so worth it. Below is a picture of the bird that Jackson caught....

Just kidding. The professionals caught this guy and tagged him, let the kids look at him and they watched him get released. Jackson said he thinks this bird was giving him 'the evil eye'. Below is a picture of a chickadee they caught. It's not dead, don't worry. Apparently if you turn them over and make their heads go back they will just lay in your hand. Jackson got to hold it and said it felt like it was vibrating because their hearts beat so fast. It was very cool. At the end you just tip your hand like you're going to drop it, then it rights itself and flies away.
Catching frogs and toads and turtles...One of the yahoos in this boat accidently tipped over their container and had frogs jumping around their canoe...

They had to make shelters out of things they found in the woods. Then had to check it's effectiveness by sitting in it as they pour water on top. If you come out dry, you passed.
Here's a picture of the Jackson's group. They did get a little wet, but not as bad as the girls' who apparently spent their time making moss carpet, a mailbox, a flatscreen TV, and other 'necessities'. I don't see anything wrong with that, do you??

I want to see the picture of you wrangling a snake! haha. J/K. Looks like a great time! If I would have been in that canoe with the frogs we would have flipped over FOR SURE!

very cool. I think Will gets to do something like this when he's in 6th grade too. Jack's turning into quite the naturist, what with all the fish he caught with Grandpa.

I have to say that tipping a container of frogs sounds better than tipping the canoe in that water.
