One Of Many Reasons I love Our Morning Drive.

Noah: MAN! I REALLY want to go to Heaven. Like, right now.
Me: You will someday. God must want you to do something here on Earth.
Noah: Like what?
Me: What do you think?
Noah: Probably, like, get married or something (huge eye roll).
Me: I hope so! Or maybe He wants you to grow up and get a job that helps people...
Noah: Yeah! That's probably it! Lets see....I think I'll help people with their taxes.

*His father will be so proud. (sniff, sniff.)

Sweet Story.

"Once upon a time there was a little boy named Beckett. One day, he went to a boy's house. His name was Max. They played and played together all day. They liked each other so much they decided to be brothers!"

I Know It's Not Monday...but it's fabulous.

My husband had a fabulous moment last night. I know it was a Thursday...but it was fabulous nonetheless. If you're not informed, my sister and her friends document Monday's Fabulous Moment because I guess something fabulous happens every Monday. Here's Joes. We've been laughing about it all day and exploring all the possibilites that could be applied. As I'm writing this I'm getting a sinking feeling this isn't fabulous at all and is just an example of our very wierd senses of humor here at the McC. household.
Anyhoo...

Joe stopped off at DeliMart last night to get a bevarage and a big burly guy followed Joe out of the store with this huge 24 pk of beer. You know, the big rectangular case of cans? Well, Joe's watching him walk towards this Harley and is wondering where this guy is going to put his beer. He climbs on and balances the beer crosswise in front of him. Joe's thinking 'no way'. Then the guy pulls his shirt up over. Yep. I'm assuming he rode the whole way home like that. Only in Iowa.

Did you think it was fabulous? I did.

My new favorite time of the day is the time in the car with the kids in the morning. I thought I would REALLY hate all the driving I would be doing to and from school. Jackson's school is a good 15 - 20 minute drive with morning traffic. I prayed about wether we should be doing bussing for him. He would be on the bus for 40 minutes each way. Can't say I was too excited about that. Noah is then another 15 minutes back plus another 5. Starting next week, I will then take Lily to her preschool on MWF which is another 10 minutes in the other direction. Turns out, it has been such a blessing. The craziness of the morning gets put aside and I get a chance to talk to the kids about their day, sing some 80's tunes, give them a little encouragement and send them off on a good note instead of rushing them out the door, usually with me on my last ounce of patience. Noah actually gets his 20 minutes of required reading a day (which is hard for him) done while in the car. It's awesome. One of our highlights of the morning is coming across our running buddy. He runs the same route each morning and we usually stumble across him. He is a big burly scary looking man. Someone who you wouldn't want to meet in a dark alley, if you know what I mean. Every day he wears the same outfit. Black pants and a big white shirt that says HUG ME in pink letters. I wonder what he would think if he knew he inspired such interesting conversation and laughter every morning.
