Lily is:

1.) going to be really good at interpretive dance someday.

2.) suffering the aftereffects of Mt. Dew.

3.) doing an impression of that hypo-hyper kid from Saturday Night Live (what was his name? I know it was Mike Meyers....Em, I KNOW you know.)

Mr. Basketball.

I love how after he takes his basket, he runs backwards, making sure I saw it and then runs off the court and into his coach. We were pretty proud of him!

My 5 Minutes Of Fame With Herky.,

Yesterday, I'm in the school office making copies for Noah's teacher and in comes Herky. I continue on with my copies and try not to make too much eye contact. You just never know what he's going to do and I'm just...uncomfortable...with things like that. So, I finish up and right when I'm leaving the office he heads for the lunchroom and we met in a jumble trying to go through the door. His head is really big, you know. So we both back out and he motions for me to go through, so I go...and he goes. We both back up...he motions for me to go....I go...he goes. The oldest trick in the book of school mascots. I kid you not, we did this 15 times. I find it hilarious, of course, as well as all the secretaries and the little sick kid that's waiting for his mom to come and get him. With a pat on my head he sends me off and heads off to his doom of 200+ kids all wanting his autograph. I don't know how he does it. When I was telling Joe this story, he gets this far-off look on his face and said, "I TOTALLY should have been Herky back in college." Yeah, he would have aced that job.

'Puter Hog.

Lily has become computer obsessed since we've gotten our new one. She likes to go to Nick Jr. and do the games there. Their newest game is Olivia paper dolls, where you can dress Olivia and give her accessories of all sorts. What 's not to love about that? Olivia is our new favorite show. She has 'rules of life' in every show. Today's show was about Olivia's rule #33: Just because your brother eats like a wild animal, doesn't mean he IS one. I think she really relates...anyways obsession has taken over at our house. She actually said to me the other day, "Mommy, why are you using my 'puter?" Her little fingers DO look really cute on that mouse, though, don't they?

Noah was the honored 'expert of the week' in his class and he chose to do a presentation on art, because, you know, he's an expert. He was pretty cute and the kids asked some great questions, like "When you grow up and become a famous artist will you change your name since its so long to make it easier to sign autographs?" I was able to stay and eat lunch with him. Apparently that's a 'big deal' to have a parent join you in the lunchroom. So, I squeezed myself into the mini tables and started eating my PB&J and noticed Noah was just sitting there. I asked him what was wrong and he said, "Lets just be real here. I eat my dessert first." So...we did what had to be done....and ate our cookies first.

Yesterday, when I picked up Lily from preschool, her teacher said, "Now, where did you guys go for Spring Break? It sounded like fun!" Ummmm...my husband's a CPA....we go NOWHERE. Apparently Lily raised her hand and told everyone she went to a hotel with big waterslides and got a new pink swimsuit with polka-dots. Stinker! Maybe she just has a very big imagination?

This picture is really old of us, but it really encaptures just how dorky we really are. We were made for each other, actually. Yesterday, we celebrated 12 years of marriage! Lets see....I woke up with a migraine which I battled most of the day. Joe's got a horrible cold, so we basically laid around all day on the couch. My husband did get a little romantic in the evening. As we were saying good-night to each other he leans over and says, "Want a sore throat??" and wiggles his eyebrows at me. Ummm.....no. Thanks, but I'll pass. That's why I love him so much. He's such a DORK. (For those who know me, the term 'dork' is an absolutely affectionate way to describe someone...) And he makes me laugh. A lot.

Spring Break Fun!

Sadly, these are the only pictures I have of Spring Break. It was a whirlwind. Our nephew Derek got spend the week in IC, so these two guys were pretty much inseperable. We think this picture is the best. Watch out for those tusks!

Back to school today!!! YAAYY! Mom's happy about that! (and maybe just a teesny bit sad.)

Here's a picture proving my story of the shrunken sweater. The sweater Noah is wearing is Joe's work sweater which just happens to be 100% merino wool. "Someone" thought it was a good idea to wash and dry it. Noah found it in the garbage can and pulled it out and said, "Hey! I've got a new sweater!" He surprised his dad by having it on when he got home from work. I'm so glad I don't have to hand wash that sweater ever again!
